GREAT DUNMOW BOOKFEST 2026
GREAT DUNMOW, ESSEX

On Saturday 13th June, I will be taking up residence in James & Co Estate Agents (No. 18 on the map below) as the whole town of Great Dunmow in Essex becomes one large bookshop for just one day.

To celebrate the Essex Book Festival, authors from across many different genres will descend on Great Dunmow to take over the library, pub and shops to sell their books, and maybe hand out a few freebies. The Bookfest runs from 12pm-5pm and the High Street will be closed to traffic to enable one and all, especially book lovers, to saunter from shop to shop, have a bite to eat, and soak up the literary atmosphere in peace.
Along with Victorian crime fiction author Linda Stratmann, we will be cuckoos in the nest of James & Co Estate Agents not far from the Saracen Head Hotel, so do pop across to see us, maybe buy a book, and definitely listen to me waffle on about about cosy crime set in WW2 and Victorian Royal Palaces, and generally all things bookish.
There will be a free town map and tote bag for the first 500 visitors to the festival HQ, plus the chance to chat with many authors and win bookish prizes.

CAPITAL CRIME FESTIVAL 2022

The fantastic Capital Crime Festival 2022 comes to you from the heart of London on 29th September – 1st October 2022 and I will be appearing on Friday 30th September between 4:35pm – 5.25pm with Greg Mosse, Imran Mahmood Tony Kent and Will Carver. Our panel will be talking primarily about our latest books in relation to Campaigns of Terror and the Fear of the Unknown, but no doubt other stuff will creep in too. With over 150 authors taking part in the festival, it promises to be a weekend jam packed with pearls of wisdom and other writerly stuff. Do come to see us and say hello.
CRIMEFEST 2022

The Bristol based CrimeFest is back again, on 12th – 15th May 2022 and I am delighted that I will be making my debut appearance on a festival panel with Jane Shemilt, Janice Hallett, C.M. Ewan and Scott Kershaw. Our panel will be discussing Playing Games: When Someone is Tormenting your Characters on Friday 13th at 5:10pm – 6pm.
